RIP Elizabeth Taylor
Iconic actress, passionate advocate, and savvy business woman Elizabeth Taylor has passed today. This one hits a little harder than most because Taylor has been around in movies and in the news almost all my life. Whether she was giving an interview, getting married again, playing a role, selling her perfume, speaking out for a cause, or giving her opinion about current actresses and films she has, until recent years, always been on the minds of the American public.
Until recently, I always thought Taylor was lauded for her beauty first and talent second. Though this may be true according to some, I have seen her perform in some astounding pieces these past few years. Among my favorites are Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf, X, Y, and Zee, Suddenly Last Summer, and Cat On a Hot Tin Roof. There is no denying that she was one of the most beautiful women in the world. A beauty that was mixed with much compassion, eccentricity, and talent that it's hard to realize she's suddenly gone. Rest in peace Ms. Taylor. You will be missed.
